Today was my last skating session for the winter season 
And I officially received my Beginner's Badge! Please note however that they forgot to add 'completion of triple axel' on my beginner checklist (must be a typo of course)
Mom was very excited when I handed her my beginner certificate, however, she was REALLY excited when she saw this notice above..."ICE SHOW"****
Ice Shows are what moms like mine live for... costumes, music and little people with big mitts waving incessantly to their parents. Mom performed in a few ice shows in her day and still fondly remembers routines like Hello Dolly and Calendar Girls (will have to find those pics)

However, before mom starts sewing costumes and getting the glitter ready, she has to deal with one minor problem: Dad.

So, mom needs your help - next time you see my dad be sure to tell him how much everyone would LOVE to see me perform in an ice show!! Please keep mom's dream alive!!

For sure you should have your shot at the limelight with the costumes and the red blush on your cheeks, the many screaming fans, the flash bulbs, and the accolades!!!! Just a little prelude to your becoming a big time hockey star! Maybe you'll become an actor and this will be your first role. I'd love to see it! You did a great job. Congrats on the certificate!

And take it from someone that has been in a few ice shows in my day - it is a ton of fun! Tell your dad that I am sure they will find a gender appropriate costume for you to wear... and every minute that you get to spend on the ice (especially at that age) will only benefit you in the long run - whether you're playing hockey, just public skating or following in your mother's footsteps and rockin' the local ice show. The more practice the better.
I am SUPER proud of you! Keep up the great work and I can't wait to skate with you next time I am home.
