Father's Day Getaway to Niagara Falls

Father's Day is EXTRA special when you get to celebrate in Niagara Falls!

Considering the chaos that is our home right now, we did not hesitate to pack our bags and head out to Niagara Falls for Father's Day weekend!

Our adventures in Niagara began with lunch at Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville.

(Besides making a delicious cheeseburger, Mom likes Jimmy for many reasons, but mostly because he is a dirty capitalist who makes his money off pretending to be a beach-lovin' freeloader)

I like Jimmy because he employs this strange woman with long legs who makes balloon swords and gives out pirate captain hats!

After lunch, we headed down to admire the falls

Except this view was not sufficient enough, so we decided to jump aboard the tiny ship that you see in this picture... the one that looks like it is about to be swallowed by the falls!

Of course, everyone knows that ship is called The Maid of the Mist

(every time mom hears that name, she can't help but think of Monty Python's "Lady of the Lake"... Listen -- strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony...)

Now, THAT is a better view of the falls!!

After our big ride, we took even MORE photos. Mom loves this one

Then we headed into town and partook in some of the 1000s of activities that Niagara has to suck up parent's money.
Mini putt with dinosaurs... awesome!
The Mirror Maze
Which one of us is real???

On our way back from the main strip, I saw my very first rainbow. Considering I had to wait a whole 4 years to see one, you can imagine my excitement!
A closer look... but not TOO close. No barrels for us thank you.

Quality dad time

After a long day of many adventures, we got all cleaned up and ready for a lovely dinner at The Watermark Restaurant

(daddy's token family shot with the sweet view from our hotel room)

The Watermark is located on the top floor of the Hilton with a breathtaking view of the falls

Despite my presence Mom and Dad did have a somewhat romantic dinner :)

I was their official photographer

The next morning we had a wonderful patio breakfast
Quality cuddle time with my Dad

SUPER cute

Thumbs up for a perfect Father's Day getaway!

Wow that looked like soooo much fun!!! I'd like to go just for the cheeseburger in paradise and a boat drink at Margaritaville.....and watch you with your pirate hat and sword. No railings and gum I hope!
That boat ride looked scary!!! and a little wet. Beautiful view, and photos!
Happy Father's Day!
