Mom Goes Back in Time - to Highschool!

The year is 1995... OJ Simpson has just been acquitted of murder charges, Braveheart is showing in theatres, flannel plaid shirts are cool and TLC has warned us all to "don't go chasing waterfalls..."

And somewhere in south Windsor three friends (mom, Aunt Beth and Kara) are speedily pre-drinking on a Friday night reviewing their big party plans with their highschool friends for that evening... WAIT, that wasn't 1995 - that was last weekend!!

Welcome Home MUSTANGS!
Nothing quite like highschool reunions - Windsor style!

If one is brave enough to go back to Vincent Massey Secondary School, it must be done properly.

Step 1: Lots of pre-drinks with close friends
Step 2: A walk through Curry Park on your way to the school
(note: Curry Park - as seen in the picture above - is south Windsor's Colosseum... i.e. for any issues that arose during school hours they were then settled later at Curry. And I feel quite positive that the phrase "3:30 ...you and me...Curry Park" is likely still echoed throughout the hallways at Massey today)

The old locker... mom claims to still remember her combination too!

Meet Morris.

And yes - he's blue. he's a horse. he's shiny and he gets pulled around on a trolley with little wheels for all of the football games.

And if anyone has a problem with Morris that they can meet me at Curry Park.

Everywhere you turned were faces of old friends.

And they were just how mom remembered them - with copious amounts of drinks in their hands

The school allowed you to roam the hallways and classrooms freely.
Mom and Kara felt it was appropriate to visit a place where they spent a lot of time: The pool locker room!

"Hey Kara - do you think if we tried to swim right now we could still make our OFSAA times?"

Ummmm, probably not...

And what is a good Windsor highschool reunion without a classic rock Battle of the Bands?
LOTS of air guitar happening in the south gym

The band that played at the end of the night were all Massey alumni from the early 70`s

And mom may have had the microphone at one point singing `Mustang Sally` with the band

Go Mustangs!
