Love of the Caribbean

Welcome back to Jamaica... ahhhh ocean, rum drinks, sunsets, sweet sunshine - and most importantly no snow and no kids?!

That's right - that time of year when my parents ditch me, jump on a plane and head to the Caribbean!

This year's destination: Sandals Negril

Dad bought the trip for mom as a Christmas present. So, next year mom might need to up her presents to dad!

View of THE balcony

and view FROM the balcony (day) (night)

Mom and dad skyped me every night at 6:00. No doubt they missed me terribly...

right mom?????

right dad?????

right guys???

This is a picture of Ricardo the butler.

Only one word can be used to describe having butler service: AWESOME!

very cool stuff, your butler even gives you a personal cell phone to call them for anything you could possibly want... yep awwweeesssssommme

Everywhere you go you get a "reserved" sign

btw, when mom and dad go to Jamaica, they refer to themselves as their alter egos - "the Etheringston's".... much more island sounding...

and every morning you get a reserved seat on the beach complete with beach towels and a cooler full of beer and water

The butlers would also bring copious amounts of a drink called a 'Jamaican Smile': 1/2 strawberry daiquiri, 1/2 pina colada and sweet, sweet creamed rum (essentially this was mom's view for about 8 hours a day!)

At night your butler would escort you to dinner... and every table you ate at would have your name and flower petals on it.

Breakfast (if you so choose) would be served on your balcony

(mmmm buttermilk pancakes...)

After a night out we would come back to many surprises...

bubble baths and champagne

swans and more flowers

They even treated us to a lovely catered dinner on the balcony. White gloves and all

Besides Ricardo the butler, we met some new friends too!

This is Dr Robert and Alexis from Pinehurst

(in fact everyone we met were doctors at the resort... medical insurance not required!)

But the real reason for mom and dad to get away wasn't to be spoiled or meet new friends, but to spend lots of time with each other.

Here are their favourite "couple" shots:

Also when you go to Sandals they like to take lots of pictures of you having fun. Here are some they took of us on the trip...

Can't wait until next year (they said I could come this time!!)
