The CreativFest comes but twice a year to Toronto- and Grandma and mom never miss it! (unfortunately that also means Papa never misses it too - but he is always a good sport :))
Above is a pic of mom and grandma enjoying some cocktails the night before the show and strategizing over which new embroidery thread colours they are going to buy!
And even though grandma comes to Toronto for the show, she always makes tons of time for me. "Don't Go Up Haunted Hill" was a book she bought me for Halloween last year, and it has become a 'must-read' for this year!
Mom signed me up for music lessons every week, so Grandma & Papa came along to see what it was all about.
As boys do, Papa and I might have taken some liberties with the 'self-play' buttons on the keyboards before all of the other students arrived.
Grandma was a bit horrified and told us to turn the music off... which we eventually did of course :) but not before mom caught our mischievous smiles on camera

Grandma and Papa also wanted to see me in action in hockey practice!
This is a shot of mom "helping me" onto the ice. We had a bit of a rough start, but after a couple of minutes I really got into it and skated up to the boards every chance I could to give Grandma and Papa big smiles! While some people may go to pumpkin patches or picturesque farmer's market to buy their pumpkins for Halloween, not us! We head on over to the local grocery store to dig them out of a big cardboard bin!!
Like I said, it is tradition. Here is shot from my very first bin-buying pumpkin excursion with grandma (back in 2007). Note the sanitized grocery cart contraption that mom always made me sit in... oh mom,
It is also tradition to physically enter the bin to dig out the perfect pumpkin (as Grandma is illustrating from 2007). and while it is normally grandma's job to get into the bin, this year...
...the reigns have been handed over to me!!!
Thanks Grandma and Papa for another fun-filled CreativFest visit!!
